Unwrap is an independent app created to help people understand what's in their food. We're committed to transparency—both in food ingredients and in how we handle your information.

If you use Unwrap as a guest (no account):

• Nothing personally identifiable. Your scan history stays on your device only.
• We may collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app (e.g., which features are used most).

If you create an account:

• Email address — to create your account and send important updates
• Display name — so we can personalise your experience
• Scan history — synced to the cloud so you can access it across devices
• Receipt data — if you use the receipt scanning feature

If you subscribe or tip:

• Purchase history — managed securely by Apple (we don't see your payment details)

How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the Unwrap service
• To sync your data across devices (if logged in)
• To send important account-related emails (password resets, etc.)
• To understand how people use the app so we can make it better

What We Don't Do

Third-Party Services

Unwrap uses the following services:

• Supabase — for secure authentication and data storage
• RevenueCat — for managing subscriptions and purchases
• Open Food Facts — for product data (open source food database)

These services have their own privacy policies and are selected for their commitment to data protection.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Account data is stored on Supabase servers (hosted on AWS in the EU). Local data on your device is stored in encrypted app storage.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — see what we have stored
• Export your data — download a copy
• Delete your data — remove your account and all associated data
• Correct your data — update any incorrect information

Children's Privacy
